Church Visits

You are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

- Ephesians 2:20-22

Grafted is pleased to announce a new pilot program called Grafted Church Visits.

One Sunday a month, all Grafted members are invited to attend church together as a loosely-organized group at a specific service. The visited church will change each month, but will always be the “home church” of an active Grafted member, and over time they will reflect the full array of Christian faith traditions represented by Grafted’s members.

After the service, there may be a group meal nearby, or a short meeting with a pastor who will welcome our group.

We are currently launching this program on a 3-month trial basis. Afterwards we will hopefully start to take member suggestions for future church visits. Information for our upcoming visit can be found below as details are finalized.

Why are we launching this?

Grafted is a diverse community representing many different churches and approaches to Christian worship. Many of us see each other at Bible studies or socials, but have never worshipped together on Sunday. Some of us are searching for a church home, and many churches would benefit from seeing a community such as ours in the flesh. We hope that this program will help bring together the richness of the body of Christ in NYC and bear good and unexpected fruit along the way.

Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, our church visit for February has been cancelled. Please check back often to learn more about our March Church Visit!

Note: We do not have any specific criteria for choosing churches to visit, other than that it is an active Grafted member’s home church, and he/she/they believe(s) our group would be warmly welcomed. We realize that different churches and denominations have wide varieties of beliefs about many issues, including LGBTQ+ concerns. The selection of a church to visit should not be interpreted as an endorsement of its particular beliefs or practices, except in our uniting belief in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
